Sheli Stevens is a Canadian singer known for her wistful pop recordings that also feature touches of folk and country sensibilities. Sheli Stevens is currently breaking into the USA market with her hit debut album, Come Home, released on the Mighty Music label.
Combining the languid vocals of an Aimee Mann with the day dreaminess of a Norah Jones and the emotional maturity of a Carole King, Sheli Stevens is making pop meaningful once again. ”I grew up listening to some of the great singer/songwriters like …James Taylor and Joni Mitchell, so I needed to have songs which were first and foremost strong, and would stand up with just a single voice and piano, or guitar, or whatever,” says Sheli of her debut album Come Home.
Come Home was written by writer and producer Eric Dick and features 11 story-telling songs, with the first single being Still The One. “Still The One” is a sweetly happy proclamation of love and gratitude and its music video features a centered and radiant Sheli outdoors where she feels most at home. ”My parents (who were both musicians) taught me to always be creative, while life on the (raspberry) farm taught me to build a strong relationship with nature. It’s no wonder that today I’m a singer who cares so deeply about our environment.”
